  11. I don't know that there's a means of getting pdf to ascii yet
  12. other than to use adobe's reader.
  13. Only problem with that is, that's totally graphical in nature.
  14. It writes to the screen using pixels.
  15. If someone were able to write a converter that could take both
  16. pdf and rip and convert them into ascii under dos using an ascii
  17. screen interface they'd make that information useable by the
  18. speech synthesizer using community.  Right now, it's difficult getting .ps
  19. converted and impossible getting .pdf converted unless a computer with windows
  20. is involved, and even then it's a tricky operation for the
  21. first time windows user.
